A Virtual National Solar Tour

In light of COVID-19, the National Solar Tour will be all virtual this year. Solar owners across the nation are virtually opening their homes and businesses the week of September 28-October 4 as part of the 25th Annual National Solar Tour. The Tour brings together solar supporters, home and business owners, and community members to celebrate and help grow solar in their communities. Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to not only get an up-close look at solar installations, learn how they work, and ask questions but you also hear from leaders in the solar field. Click here to learn more and RSVP!

What is the National Solar Tour?

  • The National Solar Tour is the largest grassroots solar, renewable energy, and sustainable living event in the nation.
  • The Tour brings together solar supporters, home and business owners, and community members together to celebrate and help grow solar in their communities.
  • This year is the 25th anniversary of the Tour and we’re going virtual! People across the country will be able to access Tour content from the comfort of their own homes.

Who is participating?

  • The 2020 National Solar Tour brings together solar energy supporters from every state. This year’s Tour is even bigger with an entire week of virtual programming.
  • Solar homeowners, businesses, non-profit organizations, municipal buildings, places of worship, schools, and community solar gardens are hosting virtual Tours and participating in the week of programming.
  • Solar United Neighbors and the American Solar Energy Society are the lead organizers for the 2020 National Solar Tour in partnership with Generation 180.

What will attendees learn?

  • Solar open houses are a chance to visit homes and businesses that use solar energy, green building design, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and other innovative or proven technologies.
  • Tour attendees will be able to see local renewable energy in action. They can ask home and business owners about their systems.
  • The Tour is an opportunity for solar supporters to network with each other for a fun and educational experience.
  • Solar tour visitors will be able to participate in programming related to:
    • Electric Vehicles
    • How to go solar
    • Solar businesses
    • Solar schools
    • Community building & solar advocacy

The Tour is a unique chance to learn about solar in your community and across the nation. Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to not only get an up-close look at solar installations, learn how they work, and ask questions but you also hear from leaders in the solar field. Rwrepresentatives will be speaking about electric vehicles, solar businesses, solar schools, and from community organizations advocating for solar and energy equity.

The Tour is free and open to the public-just RSVP to receive updates, view the programming calendar, and stay in touch.

The Tour is a great educational opportunity for everyone, homeowners, students, business owners, and solar enthusiasts-we hope to see you there!
